In mathematics the term ‘edge of chaos’ is used to describe the transition state between order and disorder in chaotic systems. In this album the pianist Zoe Efstathiou, is investigating the sonic potential of the piano overtones. Having developed a unique palette of extended techniques the pianist develops her works through the real time sculpting of chaotic overtone systems, entering new sonic territories and thus developing a truly personal and inimitable sonic language.

The album is dedicated to the memory of my beloved grandfather Dimitris Bassoukas, his life is always the light to my path.
